Metropolitan Preparatory Academy advisory board member, Perrin Blythe Reid, takes wing

Advisor Perrin Reid has been instrumental in the process of establishing the prospective charter school.

RICHMOND, Virginia – May 8, 2015 – On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, our Advisory Board member, Perrin B. Reid, took wing. Perrin has served on the advisory board since its formation in 2013, and had been a cheerleader of the charter school effort since day one.

Professionally, Perrin has enjoyed repeated successes. Beginning her career in the mid-80’s in D.C. as a legislative liaison for TransAfrica, she then transitioned to education and worked as a public school teacher, then as English instructor for several colleges, including Mount Holyoke. She later earned a law degree and became an attorney. In 2003, Perrin joined California State University (CSU) serving for several years as a director of equity and diversity for California State University, and then as chief of staff for the Chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District. Most recently, Perrin had returned to the CSU team as an associate vice president for human resources.
